Examples of this include, for instance, improper load securing, a break in the cold chain due to faulty refrigeration systems in refrigerated containers, vehicles or temperature-controlled warehouses, negligent handling practices (throwing, bumping, tipping over, falling), cargo theft, accidents involving cranes and forklift trucks, road traffic accidents, excessive shunting impacts from freight trains, poor or inadequate humidity control, e.g. due to unauthorised outdoor storage in the rain, etc.
