Thermochromic Pigments and Coatings for your Customised Project

Our thermochromic colours can be used for a variety of applications. You can make warnings visible by changing the colour, e.g. on hot surfaces, or integrate the colour change into your product as an interesting gimmick.

Different Types of Colours

  • Our liquid crystal pigments change colour at 25-30ºC when rubbed or touched.
  • Our thermochromic inks are used on labels and packaging to cause a colour change on cooling (clear to colour at 15ºC)
  • Thermochromic inks that are activated by touching will temporarily disappear when rubbed or touched;(colour to clear at 31ºC)
  • Thermochrome pigments for high temperatures are designed to change colour just below the pain threshold, alerting the user to a safety risk or quality issue - too hot! (colour becomes transparent at 47 ºC)

The activation temperatures range from low temperatures to normal body temperatures to high temperatures.

The thermochromics are available as a finished ink, as a pigment or as a liquid crystal screen printing ink. Colours and temperatures can be adapted to your individual application. The temperature range for which thermochromic inks can be used is: -10°C to 69°C.
