Shocklog 298 - Electronic transport monitoring for the highest demands
Do you want to know what happens to your goods during transportation and storage until they are sold? ShockLog 298 data loggers are used to identify the cause of damage and to clarify recourse issues in cooperation with insurers.
Or to optimize transport routes and packaging so that well thought-out damage prevention can be achieved within the logistics chain. ShockLog data loggers are the first choice for these requirements.
The ShockLog 298 with various equipment variants belongs to the latest generation of SpotSee data loggers. The ShockLog 298 detects critical events during the transportation, storage or use of sensitive products. Shocks, vibrations and environmental influences such as temperature, humidity and air pressure can cause considerable damage. The determination of certain values and the possible identification of the cause are the first promising measures to reduce transport damage and the associated costs. The preventive use of the ShockLog 298 devices to limit risk and avoid damage is the main focus of the application.
The ShockLog 298 is available as a basic model and in 4 equipment variants. By using the different device variants, e.g. with the internal Tilt & Roll unit for measuring tilt angles during sea transportation or the internal GPS module, the ShockLog 298 can be used to record a lot of relevant data for the safety of your transported goods.

Perfect attachment with the help of "bolts and buffers"
If conditions permit and the transported goods allow the Shocklog 298 to be attached with drill holes, we recommend the use of "bolts and buffers".
These special screw inserts have the basic function of a dowel, but also ensure that the Shocklog has a small contact surface on bare metal or steel frames. The primary use of the "Buffer" screw elements is to absorb and reduce high impact vibrations from steel or metal surfaces, which are therefore not transferred to the shocklog, are not relevant for absorption and usually do not lead to impact damage due to incorrect handling of the transported goods. In this way, only critical impacts for the transported goods are absorbed.
If it is not possible to make structural changes to the transported goods by drilling holes, it is possible to attach them using strongly adhesive tape on both sides (armored tape) or other individual fastening options.
General mounting instructions:
We recommend attaching the Shocklog 298 data logger to the object to be monitored wherever possible, rather than to the floor of a crate, container or trailer, etc.
This enables the most precise impact possible on directly endangered components within the transport object.
Exception: The impact effects on the means of transport are to be determined specifically.
Shocklog warning sticker and correct attachment of the Shocklog 298
Shocklog warning sticker:
To clearly identify and inform the carrier that an electronic transport monitoring system is installed, we recommend attaching the Shocklog warning sticker in A4 format to the outer packaging of the transported goods.
The psychological effect of this information leads to the correct handling of your transported goods during the entire transport.
The warning sticker indicates the electronic transport monitoring inside the packaging in two languages, German and English.
Please observe the following instructions when affixing:
When attaching the Shocklog 298, always ensure precise axial alignment. It must not be mounted on sloping surfaces or inclined planes, as this would change the sensor sensitivities.
Usual mounting:
z-axis for vertical impacts
x-axis for horizontal impacts in the direction of travel
y-axis for horizontal impacts from the right or left
Photographic documentation of the installation is strongly recommended so that the impact values determined can be assigned to the specific axle movements afterwards.
