SpotSee QR-Cloud · Indicator meets traceability
Identifying and digitally documenting transport damage
The indicator changes colour permanently when a critical event occurs. A smartphone scan records the status, time, location and serial number in the SpotSee QR-Cloud.
- Four transport risks can be covered: impact, heat, frost and tilt
- A scan using your mobile phone camera – no app, no scanner
- Condition, time, location and serial number automatically saved to the cloud
- Sequential serial number
Why QR indicators?
The indicator shows the damage. The cloud records it.
Traditional indicators show when a parcel is in a critical condition directly on the parcel itself. The QR-Cloud turns this into a documented data point, complete with location and time, every time it is scanned with a smartphone.
Immediately visible on the package
A triggered indicator here signifies that a critical event has occurred. The colour change is permanent and can be seen by anyone without the need for a measuring device.
One scan, all the data
All you need is your mobile phone’s camera. Condition, time, location and serial number are automatically uploaded to the SpotSee Cloud – no app required.
Complete scan history
Every scan along the supply chain is recorded. This makes it possible to trace where and when an event occurred.
Clarifies responsibilities
Serial numbers and barcodes uniquely link each event to a specific package – the basis for claims and recourse.
Fewer damages, fewer complaints
Visible indicators change the way things are handled before anything happens.
Quick to fit
Self-adhesive and ready in seconds – no batteries, no fuss, lightweight, reliable and resource-efficient.
Procedure
From indicator to cloud in four steps
From installation to digital documentation in the event of a claim.
Position the indicator
Affix the appropriate self-adhesive QR indicator to the package – depending on the risk of impact, heat, frost or tipping.
Event is recorded
If the indicator, shock, Temperature or inclination exceeds the threshold value, the indicator changes colour permanently. The status remains visible.
Scan with your smartphone
The recipient or inspector scans the QR code using their mobile phone’s standard camera – no need to download an app.
Documented in the cloud
Condition, time, location, image and serial number are automatically stored in the SpotSee QR-Cloud and can be accessed at any time.
Five QR indicators for four transport risks
All models operate without batteries and upload their data to the SpotSee Cloud via a scan. Choose based on the risk to your consignment.

Transparency
Greater insight into your dispatch processes
Simple indicators are transformed into traceable data points along the supply chain.
SpotSee QR-Cloud
What is recorded during each scan
Every QR scan generates a data record in the SpotSee Cloud. This creates a complete, traceable history throughout the supply chain – accessible on any device with internet access.
- Product & serial number – unique link to the package
- Status of the indicator – triggered or intact
- Scan time – date and time, recorded automatically
- Scan location – where in the supply chain the check was carried out
- Digital scan history – all scans in one place
- Photographic documentation – a photograph of the indicator is recorded
No need to download an app. The QR code opens the cloud view directly in your browser – on any smartphone, with no installation required.
1. Position the indicator
2. Identify any potential damage during transport
3. Scan the indicator with your smartphone
4. Automatically save the status, time, location and serial number to the SpotSee QR-Cloud
Areas of application
Where QR indicators are used today
Wherever goods that are sensitive to temperature, impact or orientation are in transit – and proof is essential.
Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences
Vaccines, blood samples and medicines. WarmMark QR and FreezeSafe QR provide seamless cold chain documentation – WarmMark QR complies with 21 CFR Part 11.
Electronics & Medical Technology
Sensitive assemblies, imaging equipment and laboratory instruments, where an unnoticed impact can prove costly.
Machinery, Plant & Energy
Compressors, transformers, server racks and battery storage units that must remain upright and free from vibration – monitored using TiltWatch XTR QR and ShockWatch 2® QR.
Automotive & Industry
High-quality components with a long supply chain, where handling and accountability must be verifiable at all times.
Technical Specifications
A comparison of the five QR indicators
All readings at a glance – each indicator measures a specific transport risk and uploads its status to the SpotSee Cloud with a single scan.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about QR indicators
What distinguishes the QR indicators from traditional SpotSee indicators?
In addition to the tried-and-tested visual display, each QR indicator features a scannable QR code. When scanned with a smartphone, the condition, time, location and serial number are automatically recorded in the SpotSee QR-Cloud – without the need for an app, battery or scanner. This turns a visible condition into a data point with verified location and time.
Do I need an app to scan it?
No. Your smartphone’s built-in camera is all you need. The QR code opens the corresponding cloud page directly in your browser – no download, no installation.
What data is stored with each scan?
The status of the indicator (triggered or intact), the time and location of the scan, and the product or serial number are recorded. All scans form a digital history. In addition, a photo is taken for documentary evidence.
Which QR indicator is suitable for my consignment?
Depending on the risk: impact with ShockWatch Label QR or ShockWatch 2® QR; excessive temperature with WarmMark® QR; unauthorised freezing with FreezeSafe QR; unauthorised tilting with TiltWatch XTR QR. We’d be happy to advise you on your selection.
Can a triggered indicator be reset?
No. The colour change is permanent and cannot be reset. Each indicator bears a unique serial number and is therefore non-interchangeable.
Do the QR indicators work without a battery?
Yes. All QR indicators operate without batteries or wireless transmission. This makes them lightweight, reliable and fully suitable for air freight and export.
What should I do if an indicator has been triggered on delivery?
Accept the consignment subject to reservation only, scan the QR code and note the triggered indicator, including its serial number, on the delivery note. Take photographs of the package and the goods and check for hidden damage.
