The tempmate.® -GS2 V2 real-time data logger monitors temperature, relative humidity, light, shock, tilt and the location determined via the cellular network during transport and storage. The device helps companies document transport conditions and identify deviations at an early stage.
Measurements are recorded according to the configured logging and transmission intervals. When a sufficient cellular connection is available, the logger transfers the data via 4G LTE Cat 1 with 2G fallback to the tempmate.® -Cloud. The measurement data is additionally stored in the device's internal memory.
If no cellular connection is available during transport, the logger continues to record the measurements locally. Once a connection is restored, the stored data can be transferred to the cloud. Reports can also be accessed locally via the USB 2.0 interface.
Typical applications include:
Transport and storage of temperature- and humidity-sensitive goods
International supply chains requiring cloud-based transport monitoring
Shipments for which shock, tilt or light events must be documented
Quality control and incoming-goods inspection
Documentation of alarm-limit violations and transport deviations
How the tempmate.® -GS2 V2 real-time data logger works
Measurement values, status information and alarm-limit violations can be viewed in the tempmate.® -Cloud. Alarm limits can be configured for the supported measurement parameters. Depending on the cloud configuration, notifications can be sent by email and/or SMS.
The logging interval can be configured from 1 to 60 minutes. The transmission interval can be set from 10 to 1,440 minutes. With a 10-minute logging interval and a 240-minute transmission interval, the lithium version provides a recording duration of up to 120 days.
The local storage capacity of the version for temperature, relative humidity and light is up to 24,200 readings. Reports are available through the tempmate.® -Cloud and locally via USB 2.0. A USB cable is not included.
The logger is started using the green start button, which must be pressed for more than 5 seconds. Successful activation is confirmed by the LED and the recording symbol on the display. After transport, the logger can be stopped using the red stop button. Depending on the configuration, it can also be stopped via the cloud or the USB interface.
The automatic flight mode interrupts cellular transmission during a detected flight. Data transmission resumes when the necessary technical conditions are available again.
Cellular-network-based positioning and limitations in China
The tempmate.® -GS2 V2 is not a GPS or GNSS logger. Its location is determined via the cellular network using LBS (Location Based Services). The position is calculated using available cellular-network information. Data transmission is handled separately via 4G LTE Cat 1 with 2G fallback.
The displayed position may differ from the actual location. Accuracy depends, among other factors, on network coverage, the location of available cellular base stations and the surroundings of the logger. Positioning may be further restricted inside containers, vehicles, warehouses or other shielded environments.
Important information for shipments to China: The location function of the tempmate.® -GS2 V2 cannot be used reliably on mainland China. Location data packets may be transmitted by the logger and received by the cloud, but the conversion of the cellular-network data into a map position does not work reliably there.
As a result, the position in the tempmate.® -Cloud may be missing, may not be updated or may continue to show an older or implausible location. For shipments to China, users must therefore not assume that the logger's actual position can be reliably tracked on the cloud map.
This limitation concerns the displayed location. Temperature, relative humidity, light, shock and tilt data can still be recorded. Transmission of this data to the cloud nevertheless requires a sufficient cellular connection.
Your benefits when using the tempmate.® -GS2 V2:
Combined monitoring of temperature, relative humidity, light, shock, tilt and cellular-network-based location
Automatic data transmission via 4G LTE Cat 1 with 2G fallback to the tempmate.® -Cloud
Internal data storage when no cellular connection is available, with subsequent transmission of the recorded values
Cloud-based monitoring with configurable alarm limits and notifications by email and SMS
Local report output via USB 2.0 in addition to analysis in the tempmate.® -Cloud
Up to 120 days of recording with the specified standard logging and transmission intervals
